Coach's Fire Pit

Brick Oven Pizza
1188 35th Ave
Sacramento, CA 95822
(916) 393-3320
And Undisclosed Land Park Location

Nothing is quite as relaxing as a house hosted Thursday! We invited ourselves over to Coach's house for some Brick Oven Pizza take out and some fire pit action.

The pizza at Brick oven is almost on a cracker crust and they combo with extra mushrooms will make your heart melt. Damn dependable and tasty.

After much pizza, we adjourned to the outside where the fire pit lives. Once day Coach and some friends decided to dig a large hole...I do believe booze was involved.

Well, lucky for us! On a chilly November night we hung out, made s'mores and flamed some marshmallows. We also got some burning smoke in the eye, but that comes with the territory.

Yard House

1166 Roseville Parkway
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 780-9273

We know this place has mixed reviews, but we had to see for ourselves. It's a huge place in the Roseville Fountains so it already has a sort of douchy point against it. But, with hundreds of beers on tap maybe it's okay.

The picture of the fancy enchiladas below is pretty nice and they have a wierdly large selection of veggie meat options. But that's not a bad thing. Also is shit crazy busy. So busy in fact that our group couldn't even find each other and ended up waiting for two different tables because of the confusion.

Anyway, once folks were seated it was okay. High points, low points, kind of pricey for what you get, but an impressive beer selection. I'm letting what I've heard about the keg line cleaning practices go since I don't know that for a fact.

Bottomline - mixed reviews. They're true, but maybe try for yourselves.

Pangaea Two Brews Cafe

2743 Franklin Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95818
(916) 454-4942

This little Curtis Park gem is a Thursday Drunks favorite. We've cohosted a Beer Tweetup here and whiled away hours trying crazy Belgian beers and making friends with strangers.

They've replaced their normal tables with more bench & table setups that remind me of Octoberfest setups. Less options but more reasons to get friendly with strangers. With so many of us, we added to two tables of existing patrons. We even got some cupcakes from one random person! And we meet up with a couple of folks that hadn't come out before. Newbies, we love them.

So many beers where had. The critical thing is to taste everything that everyone else gets. The food is quite good and it all goes with beer. If you don't know what you like Rob the owner of his very well informed staff can help you with suggestions and even let you taste some options in case you need convincing.

Oh! And they just opened a bottle shop next door (well, you can walk through from the restaurant side), so you can buy and take home all sorts of wacky, new beers you've never tried. Awesome!
