Velocity Pizza

4894 San Juan Ave
Fair Oaks, CA 95628
(916) 844-7725

Our Carmichael contingent never steers us wrong. A pizza joint in a strip mall on San Juan doesn't seem like it much but Velocity Pizza makes a damn fine pie! They have a nice beer selection and three - count them, three! types of box wine for $4 a glass. The pistacho with cream sauce is great, the New York is meaty and wonderful and the kale salad is the size of my head. Very tasty all around and the staff are just great!

We even had an appearance from recently Thursday Drunks baby daddy, Nairb. Looking tired and happy, sent to take some food home to the family. Yay new drunk baby!

PS. Ben had a late request of a Slothopus for his birthday. At the end you will see all the renditions.

And now the Slothopus...

Hawaiian Ben's Birthday

Undisclosed Natomas Location

Ben had a birthday. Ben also went to Kauai recently. Therefore, Ben gets Hawaiian birthday Thursday!

This was a fun one. The list of Hawaiian food was this: two kinds of SPAM musubi, kalua pork, mac salad, spicy SPAM fried rice, Hawaiian rolls, salad with sesame dressing, pineapple, Hawaiian potato chips, tuna/albacor/salmon poke with ogo seaweed I smuggled back from Kauai, macadamia nut cookies and Koloa Rum mai tais.

Add all that with about 20 drunks, 3 kids with a job of saying "aloha" at the door and handing out leis, a giant set of 40 mylar balloons and it was a damn fine night!

Happy birthday Ben!

The Owl Club Roseville

109 Church Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 782-5222

Go back many years and Thursday Drunks sponsored a #BeerTweetUp at Pangaea where we met Rick Sellers. He is a die-hard beer guy that also worked at Samuel Horne's in Folsom until he got a hold of the Owl Club. The place has changed hands a few times in the past decade and it was sad to see it close last year, but well, it did kind of suck.

So it rises from the ashes with a new cleaner look and a focus on BBQ meats and really, really good beer selection. The Owl just opened a couple of weeks ago so if you go, take a little patience and give a good cheers to Rick. He is living a hard fought dream and we couldn't be happier to see the Owl in such good hands.

Oh, the mac n' cheese with serrano chilies and bacon is the freaking best!
