Gather is one of those great Sacramento events that I can't recommend enough. It's a lovely evening of food, drinks, music and running into friends. Yes, parking is a hassle some times and yes, you have to stand in line for drinks and food, but if you just enjoy the vibe, the music and the people, it's a great neighborhood festival.

It's just too bad we can't get there more often than once a year.

In my defense, GATHER Oak Park is so much damn fun with all your favorite Sacramento people that it's hard to remember to do the social media when you're just having a damn fine time. Sacto Storytellers killed it on stage, all the local beer you could want and the food trucks have been moved around the corner for a bit more space. Overall, it was even better than last year. We got our groove on, our drink on and noshed on some delicious food. What could be better!

High fives to the Unseen Heroes crew for bringing another great event to Sacramento. The next one is on August 13th and don't forget to hit up DISPLAY: California across the street for some great handcrafted gifts.

Oak Park Brewing Company is a great addition to the neighborhood. It was packed on a Thursday night even on their patio in January. It's nice to see a place like this succeed. We were put in the back room so I really can't speak to the atmosphere of the main room but it looked nice as I walked through. The service was slow but that might have been because we were in the back. The rabbit fries were really really good! And they had a great selection of beers on tap.

Unseen Heros are the fab folks behind the GOOD Design Market. They just stared up a monthly GATHER in Oak Park on the second Tuesday of the month. We went their on their second go around. They close off a whole block right off Broadway and bring in food trucks, local beer, live band, vendors and such. It was packed full of folks that walked from their homes and also drive-ins like us that just wanted to check it out.

The drunks were 11 strong and ran into many friends at the festivities. What a great event! We would highly suggest checking it out. The next one is on Thursday, August 14th.
