Nixtaco

1805 Cirby Way #12
Roseville, CA 95661
(916) 771-4165

A lot of our foodie friends have been trekking out to Roseville to eat tacos at Nixtaco so we had to try it. Their taco sampler (of adorable mini tacos), is a great way to sample it all. The veggie was was surprisingly good, the barbacoa was delicious and the carnitas and other pork ones were good but I couldn't figure out which was which, sorry! They have a nice selection of local beers and their black beans were great! Along with server yourself blue corn chips and this place is a great addition. Counter service also helps us with drops in, and large parties.

Taco Night at the Orange House

Undisclosed Roseville Location

Tacos! Tacos! Tacos!

Who doesn't love tacos? And last year while visiting a cousin drunk in Spain we had her Puerto Rican tacos that were so good and different! So, The Jenny hounded her for the recipe and made it for all of us. And damn, they are good! Things you wouldn't expect is the huge amount of capers and green olives.

There were also other tacos, but we don't need to talk about them.

And yes, Nairb brought his own food. Such a snob. (Or really nice guy because we didn't RSVP and didn't want to eat other peoples tacos.)

Old Town Pizza

120 Church Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 668-7655

Old Town Pizza is a great addition to the old Roseville area. It's huge so you can pack more than 20 drunks and birthday girl Jenny's family into many tables. They have an old fashion and delicious pizza with a thick, chewy crust and very tasty toppings. They also have a great beer menu with lots of local and craft choices. Their salads are large enough to share and the garlic bread is tasty. Overall, this place is perfect for your large pizza parties. Can't wait to have that pizza again.

Also, happy birthday The Jenny! You are the best of us.

Monk's Cellar

240 Vernon Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 786-6665

We love our Monk's Cellar. The food is so good and the beers are great. The chef even sent out more fries which is always appreciated. Bob was sad because some drunks were missing. Poor Bob.

Nela's Mexican Restaurant

242 Vernon Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 783-9992

We needed some cheap, easy deliciousness and Nela's hits the spot. Just good old fashion tacos, enchilada plates and burritos. Of course, we didn't take any photos because we were just too busy shoveling food into our faces.

Italian Feast at Momma J's

Undisclosed Roseville Location

When Momma J's brother and sister lost everything, and I mean everything in the Butte fire a fundraiser was started and many of the Drunks donated what we could to help out. Momma J treated us all to an Italian feast dinner as a thank you. We didn't do it for the food, but damn, it was delicious.

Lasagna, baked pesto chicken with crispy skin, salad, garlic bread and all the Drunks and mini dogs you could handle. A house party is always a good time.

Thanks Momma J!

Bastille Day

Undisclosed Orange House in Roseville

Sometimes we do things on NOT a Thursday. These drinky francophiles just had to get together for Bastille Day. Thanks to The Jenny & Naked Bob for hosting all our frenchy fancies.

Monk's Cellar Roseville

240 Vernon St
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 786-6665

This blogger missed the first time we came here so I'm glad we are back! This is a great addition to the Vernon Street area in Roseville with craft beers and a simple menu of delicious food. I had the brown ale, salad and small cottage pie which was so yummy! From fish and chips to sausage plates and sandwiches everyone enjoyed their food. The duck fat fries are not to be missed.

The set up is great with bar space, tall bar tables, a couch area, normal dining room space and an large table in a little sequestered area that we filled in with our 11 drunks. Over all, check it out and join your neighbors here.

Bob's Rose Garden Chinese

1079 Sunrise Ave B250
Roseville, CA 95661
(916) 781-3823

Our last birthday in April was Bob and he choose some good ol' Chinese food. The Rose Garden in Roseville is a neighborhood standby and they even welcomed Mr. Jacob's by name. We packed the back room with 17 drunks and family and enjoyed Family Dinner A. Which means for $18.50 per person with a healthy tip we ate ALL the food! It was a cavalcade of options and well worth it. Bob had special "one pound of chocolate" brownies from Momma J and an all around grand night was had by all.

The birthday Bob
We took the whole back room.

The Owl Club Roseville

109 Church Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 782-5222

Go back many years and Thursday Drunks sponsored a #BeerTweetUp at Pangaea where we met Rick Sellers. He is a die-hard beer guy that also worked at Samuel Horne's in Folsom until he got a hold of the Owl Club. The place has changed hands a few times in the past decade and it was sad to see it close last year, but well, it did kind of suck.

So it rises from the ashes with a new cleaner look and a focus on BBQ meats and really, really good beer selection. The Owl just opened a couple of weeks ago so if you go, take a little patience and give a good cheers to Rick. He is living a hard fought dream and we couldn't be happier to see the Owl in such good hands.

Oh, the mac n' cheese with serrano chilies and bacon is the freaking best!

Mehfil for Bump's Birthday

1605 Douglas Blvd
Roseville, CA 95661
(916) 791-1199

Bump is wise because Bump is old. He picked arguably the best Indian food in Roseville. Mehfil is never very busy on a Thursday night so it's always an easy big crowd place to go. Each curry comes in its own little candle warmed cooper dish. It's always a little spicier than you think it will be but that is just fine! Overall, really good flavors and spice, friendly service, add a Kingfisher beer and you are set.

Orange House Dinner

Undisclosed Roseville Location

Once again on the eve of a large off-Thursday shindig, we go small, simple and cozy. Tomorrow we feast on fondue and more booze than you can shake a stick at! So today, we have homemade minestrone soup, fresh baked bread and some Jacob's family hospitality. It was delicious!

Iron Grill Korean BBQ

2030 Douglas Boulevard
Roseville, CA 95661
(916) 899-5448

We've never done a Korean BBQ place for a Thursday so this was a fun one! If you order the all-you-can-eat grill, you sit by an open grill and they bring you the huge assortment of pickled veggies and then piles of seasoned meats. They are surprisingly flavorful and much more tasty than I expected. They have individual items as well, but it's an all-or-nothing system so your whole party has to either do the do-it-yourself grill or you sit at a regular table and order your own dishes.

Full disclosure that I wasn't there (again) but I did just eat there for the first time last week.

Meanwhile, I was in Kauai.

Monk's Cellar

240 Vernon Street
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 786-6665

All the Roseville drunks have been waiting patiently for the Monk's Cellar to open. Right on Vernon Street close to Nela's Mexican, it's a great little addition. It's also the closest bar in walking distance to The Jenny & Naked Bob, so you know...that doesn't suck.

Again, I wasn't there so I can't speak much more about it other than everyone loves it. I'll need to hit it up soon to make peace with my drinky soul.

Famous Musician Halloween Party

Undisclosed Roseville Location

If there is one thing (after drinking) we do well, it's costumes. Give us a theme and we will rock it. The Jenny & Naked Bob have been hosting Halloween for as long as I can remember...which means for about 10 years or so. Always themed and always awesome.

This year, famous musicians. This is a small sampling.

Halloween punch in the making. It's lethal.

Jalisco Mexican

9290 Sierra College Blvd #100
Roseville, CA 95661
(916) 788-1737

On the eve of a big shindig, we usually do something low key and cheap. Since the annual Halloween party was coming up on Saturday, we went with walk-up-and-order Mexican food. Jalisco is a local chain with solid options, good salsa and chips.

Nothing fancy, nothing to write home about but damn it hits the spot.

Popeye's Chicken at the Orange House

Undisclosed Roseville Location

DAMN! Who doesn't love Popeye's Chicken?!

A shiny new location opened up in Roseville and just happens to be right around the corner from a founding drunk. Take-out and bring your own booze? Okay!

$5.50 a person later, we ate our fill of spicy chicken and a crap ton of sides. Easy and delicious way to feed 16 people. Also, ask for all their condiments. They have Cajun Sparkle (and I am not even kidding). It's a seasoning, not a stripper name - I swear.

Boxing Donkey

300 Lincoln St, Roseville, CA
(916) 797-3665

BUMP IS OLD!!! Bumpy Truck had a birthday and we went to Boxing Donkey for some post-Christmas grub and booze. We took over most of the main area with a really good showing of Drunks! Their was a blow up reindeer that deflated and tried to trap us cause that happens.

Between the Guinness and the gin & tonics - we were happy drunks. We missed happy hour but then found out they serve tater tots now! Oh, yeah, that's right. Grilled sandwiches, burgers AND tater tots? Holy fried-potatoes Batman.

Thursday Night Football

Undisclosed Roseville Location

We crashed a Roseville house and had BBQ take out (that was amazing!) and watched some football. Okay, let's be honest, we played Cards Against Humanity while we listened to football.

Also what goes with barbecue and football? Champagne bar. Totally.

Boxing Donkey

300 Lincoln St
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 797-3665

Did this night even happen? I don't know but this is what it says in the calendar and we never miss a Thursday so it must have happened.

Here is what I assumed happened:
We took over the corner table
Guinness was had
Irish egg rolls were eaten
The Journal was written in
Servers were hassled
Bartenders were tipped
Conversation was loud
Penises were drawn

Typical Thursday.
