Monk's Cellar Roseville

240 Vernon St
Roseville, CA 95678
(916) 786-6665

This blogger missed the first time we came here so I'm glad we are back! This is a great addition to the Vernon Street area in Roseville with craft beers and a simple menu of delicious food. I had the brown ale, salad and small cottage pie which was so yummy! From fish and chips to sausage plates and sandwiches everyone enjoyed their food. The duck fat fries are not to be missed.

The set up is great with bar space, tall bar tables, a couch area, normal dining room space and an large table in a little sequestered area that we filled in with our 11 drunks. Over all, check it out and join your neighbors here.

Studio Movie Grill - SPY

5140 Commons Dr
Rocklin, CA 95677
(916) 238-9000

Most of us have loved the concept of movies with drinks and food from places in other cities and Sacramento has been lacking that. Studio Movie Grill might be a little bit too fancy for me, but I'm still going to love some snacks and a drink with a movie.

The set it pretty spacious with large comfy seats, your own personal table and enough space for waiters to walk through. The food is pretty good and there is a large array of drinks. Of course it's a little overpriced, but it's the convince you are paying for. The 2 for $25 special is petty good with a appetizer to share and two entrees.

We saw SPY with Melissa McCarthy and it was hilarious! I would highly suggest it for a funny entertaining movie with your adult friends.

Out of Bound Brewing Co

4480 Yankee Hill Rd #100
Rocklin, CA 95677
(916) 259-1511

We love having tap rooms for our Rocklin contingent! On a very hot Thursday, this air conditioned brewery is just about perfect. They have food trucks most nights, are kid friendly and basically a great place to grab a beer and hangout with friends.

The Federalist Public House

2009 Matsui Alley
Sacramento, CA 95811
(916) 661-6134

The #Spaindinavia crew is back so we hit up the Federalist in midtown Sacramento for a collection of pizza's beer and salad. The pizza is fantastic! This time the kale salad was a little bit off, the pieces were so large it was hard to chew. The beer selection as always has a nice array from local places but you do have to ask what they all are which might stop people from trying them all. Overall, I will forgive the salad, because really...you don't win friends with salad.

I love the collection of faces being made here.

Keeping up with the Joneses

Undisclosed Placerville Location

Tonight we dined al fresco at the lovely home of our favorite Joneses.  We ordered savory pot pies from local Hangtown institution Z Pie and enjoyed the lovely early spring weather.  It was an evening of babies, good eats & puppies chasing laser dots.  A good time was had by all.

The Chef's Table

6843 Lonetree Blvd Ste 103
Rocklin, CA 95765

This week marked the first of three weeks without the collective known as "the Bobs" who went off globe-trotting to Spaindinavia (or Spaindanavia, depending on where you are from). The rest of us stalwart Drunks decided to take advantage of our smaller numbers and partake of the deliciousness to be had at The Chef's Table in Rocklin. This is a fairly intimate, yet casual restaurant that serves a variety of dishes spanning the range of gourmet to comfort food, all with a local ingredients and unique, flavorful twists. Due to it's small size reservations are a must (available through OpenTable). Our party of 6 was able to get in at 8:00pm.

Fat Rabbit Public House

825 Sutter Street
Folsom, CA 95630
(916) 985-3289

It was a birthday-less Thursday but the Fat Rabbit always draws a crowd. It's one of the easiest places to go since you order at the bar and you just pay for everything yourself. They have Strongbow on tap and an Icelandic Einstock White Ale that is just wonderful. Fish & chips are always a favorite along with Shepard's pie, pasties and their schnitzel which seems like a hold over from when this spot was Old Europe and served the best schnitzel in town. Its comfy nooks and crannies make it a great drop-in type evening with other drunks.
