After days of rain, we gambled on the break in the weather to try out Der Biergarten in Midtown. Large liters of beer helped keep us warm in their outdoor set up. Overall this place is pretty great with a nice selection of beers. Only bummer is the wait time for ordering can be very long so make sure to get a very large beer or multiple small beers to keep you drinking. Their pretzel, fries and sausages are great and perfect to soak up the booze. Get there early because it gets packed fast.

We were a little depressed being back from Sea Ranch and had a small group that drowned their sorrows in pints of beer, cider and comfort food. We commandeered the small lounge area in the back and had a fine time even though we had no view of the ocean.

After one year off (we went to San Diego for our 10 year anniversary) we are back at SEA RANCH! Five days, 20 drunks, 3 houses, countless bottles of booze (no seriously, I tried to count), happy hours, hot snacks, walks to the beach, drunken sun bathing, 1 freakishly hard puzzle, rock band, board games, crazy delicious meals.

It did not suck.

Trusty Samurai Sushi. The location is just off the freeway in Ranch Cordova next to a hotel, but it's affordable, it's tasty and we tend to get our Placerville contingent to attend when we are out here. They never have a problem seating a large party and their service is good and prompt. If you live out this way, check it out.

Emily had a birthday and she picked on of our favorite places! We took over a large booth and were oozing out of it with quite a few of us just blocking the walkway with our cocktails. Oh well! We do tip well, so you know.

We took shifts eating and drinking at the table and exploring their very large specialty cocktail menu. All of them are good. I've never had a mediocre drink here. Nicely done Emily. You are a keeper.

She broke her arm in fine style so what does she do for her birthday? Flies to Vegas for a concert and flies back just in time for her birthday Thursday at Taka's Sushi in Fair Oaks. She's so fancy!

The food is great in this well established sushi joint. They do rolls well and also really nail the traditional basics. Definitely a place to check out if you live in the area!

Ben picked Hot Italian for his birthday and he even got a nice little Spongebob Squarepants crabby patty from one of the youngest drunks! We dined on amazing pizzas and carafes of cocktails, beer and wine. Oh, and if you can get that nice big round table in the back - that's just the tops.
