Masullo & Birth of the Baker

2711 Riverside Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95818
(916) 443-8929

We can't get enough of the food and atmosphere at Masullo! Take a look at all the other times we've been there for a full review. It's been a hot location for birthdays and this is no different. Sometimes Drunk and pro baker John made a very wise choice.

And the coolest thing, is he tried out his new birthday toy by making a stop motion video of the night!

As you can see much pizza was eaten, and the wine flowed like well, wine! Happy birthday John, and thanks for letting us come back to Masullo so soon.

Hideaway & Birth of RobotGoBen

2565 Franklin Blvd
Sacramento, CA 95817
(916) 455-1331

Our favorite Robot had a birthday and he chose the Hideaway to quench his thirst and provide delicious tall hamburgers. This place is great and we come here about once a year (see old posts here).

It's one of those surprising dive bars with great food. Their hamburgers are the outstanding favorite and even our most critical burger lover, loved theirs. And even their salads are fun, tasty and not just iceberg with ranch. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

Drinks are drinks since it is a bar with limited beers on tap but lots of other options. Their tiki themed drinks are fruity and will knock you on your ass. Best of all, the jukebox is still one of the best in Sacramento.

It seems to always be a bit empty, which is okay because we took it over with 20 drunks. Just make sure to bring your friends if you want it to be more social.

Maranello's

8928 Sunset Ave
Fair Oaks, CA 95628
(916) 241-9365

As soon as one of our members suggested this place it was written up in Sacramento Magazine. So we had to hit is quick! Located in an unassuming strip mall/office building on a residential corner of Hazel Avenue - it's more of a neighborhood spot than a destination.

The inside is configured a little weird, but it adds some interest. It's a bit more upscale than we usually hit, but we clean up well and can order like adults when we need to.

Pastas are their speciality and they have some nice cocktails as well. Most of us stuck with the house wine which was good. I had a rabbit ragu that was absolutely delicious, rich and meaty! Everyone seemed to like their food and it's a nice atmosphere.

If you live out that way, it's a must try because it's the best you'll get around there and it's always nice to support a local place.
