10th Anniversary in San Diego

Every year we pool our money and rent houses for an extended 5 day weekend in Sea Ranch for the Thursday Drunks members. It is glorious.
But this year we celebrated our 10th anniversary. Yup, 10 years of going out every Thursday of every week (except for Thanksgiving). Now we had to step up our game. We rented a very large house on Sunset Cliffs in San Diego and opened the invitation to our Sometimes Drunks as well.
21 drunks headed to SD for the long weekend and did a whole lot of nothing. Eating, dancing, swimming, napping, walking, sunbathing, game playing, pinatas and so much more.
Yes, it was awesome. And yes, we are also awesome. You're welcome.

Jarla had a birthday so 14 drunks come out to celebrate! Now, we had a fine time, don't get me wrong, and some of the food was good and the drinks are great. (can you hear the but coming?) This place is terrible for large groups. Not the actual eating there, but the reservations!
We made a reservation and the confirmation email was a laundry list of what we had to do to keep our table. Including every there within 10 minutes of our reservation, how we could pay, 80% of the people had to be there to be seated...all of this or our table would be given away. So, we did all those things. And when we showed up -- they had given our table away already.
Their excuse was that they called to confirm and since no one answered they canceled the reservation. Well, the person who reserved it saw that they were calling but was in a meeting and couldn't take the call. No message was left, or return call request...just cancelled the reservation. I swear.

Alas, this blogger was missing this week form Carmalita's. But I'm sure it was delicious mix of margaritas, beer, enchiladas, tacos and chips. This place is one of the better places in the area and even thought they are busy, you can usually get in. Their happy hour is good to, even though their bar is small.
