Eastern Empire

460 Howe Avenue
Sacramento, CA 95825
(916) 646-1698

After a conversation with a bartender friend and one of his bar patrons, we were tipped off to this all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant that make tiki drinks over by Sac State. Their cocktails are just pure booze with a little juice thrown in and if you have a hunger, check out their dinner. It's not a buffet, it's all cooked to order and you can pick off a very large menu to share with your table. This place is a gem.

Sacramento Burger Battle

Cesar Chavez Park

Yeah for us! The Sacramento Burger Battle landed on a Thursday. We rallied the troops and for $45 we ate amazing local burgers until we almost burst and had some lovely cocktails, beer and wine. It's totally worth the price, the park is filled with all the most fun Sacramento people and it's just something Sacramento should be proud of.

A little birdie told me that it might be on a Thursday next year as well. Challenge accepted!

The Rind

1801 L Street #40
Sacramento, CA 95811
(916) 441-7463

This is the second time we been to the Rind on an official Thursday outing and we have to say the scaffolding all down this block sort of helped us out! The crowd was still thick but we pulled up some bar stools to our regular sized table and did just fine. As always, the mac n' cheese and grilled cheese are amazing along with the beer & wine selection. Have I mentioned that the owners are rad as well? Great addition to the cheesy Sacramento scene.

Sacto Mofo - Carmichael

Carmichael Park
5750 Grant Ave
Carmichael, CA 95608
(916) 485-5322

We have a few Carmichael drunks and they voted for the Sacto Mofo mobile food truck festival that happens on the first Thursday of the month. The park filled up with families with their kids and dogs and felt like a great community event. Over 10 food trucks, 3 dessert trucks some vendors and a band made for a nice evening. We brought our own sly booze, laid out a blanket and just hung out until the sun went down.

Try out any of the Sacto Mofo events in the local parks and you'll be pleased.
