HAPPY SIXTH ANNIVERSARY!!!

Yessiree, we have been doing this every Thursday for six years now. Over 300 Thursdays in a row, there have been a solid group of drunks eating and drinking their way around the greater Sacramento area and destinations beyond.

To celebrate we went to Bombay Bistro in Roseville. Quite a few of us are from around there and have been enjoying this local favorite for years. It's run by a family and usually you see an older gentleman and a younger guy who is, let's just say, a little unorthodoxed for a restaurant. A family run place is always a good thing, and they have been around for quite awhile buying their produce from local farmer markets, and meats from the area as well.

The location is kind of crappy, behind the now-out-of-business Mervyn's in a plain strip mall. If you can find it, it's worth the trip.

We had a little bit of everything. Chicken Tikka, Masala, Korma, Madras, Samosas, lots of naan, beer with a Yeti on it, and random red wine that we don't remember picking, but we drank anyway. You sort of start off thinking you want to order something and then the younger guys talks you into something better. It's great! Plus we were peppered with inappropriate jokes all night. A family owned, locally supplied restaurant with personality? Yeah, it's good. (footnote: we like our places with a little more personality than most. If you are looking for traditionally "good" service, you may be disappointed. If you would like some kiss-my-grits service and a laugh, you'll love it).

We were down a Sluggy & Crab (see the previous post for reasons...they are the same), but up a Frankenstein & his bride and of all people, CADDIE!!! She doesn't make it very often since she is way out in Walnut Creek, but she was laid off this morning...boo...and decided to drive up.

Dinner was fun with many conversations going on at the same time. It was hard to keep track. Shooter ended up with two more notes from the Door Knob Bandit, we are starting to think he is doing them himself. And our younger waiter guy signed the journal and was surprised that I carried a set of tongs in my purse. We couldn't read his name on the page, so he is still the younger waiter guy who tells dirty jokes. Oh, and Jarla had eye surgery and wasn't wearing her tape-on eye patch, but Caddie brought her a pirate eye patch just in case.

Journal Tidbits:
"Can I get a ride home? My mom dropped me off." - Caddie
"Did you do it in plain site or did you do it in a salacious manner." - Frankies Bride
