Linda's Pizzeria

7815 Greenback Lane
Citrus Heights, CA 95610

(916) 722-2700

Set in an old Taco Bell building, this little Pizzeria is owned by Linda, the sister of Zelda of Zelda's Pizza fame in midtown Sacramento. We love Zelda's. It's kitschy, the deep dish is delicious and it's a Sacramento institution.

So when a new contender showed up, we had to try it! Some of our members live out that way, so that was even more incentive. First impression is that it's in an old Taco Bell. No way around that. They've tried to make it a bit more cozy with wooden booths and some TVs with football on, but you can still tell.

The pizza, now there is another story! We were split down the middle as to whether it was better than Zelda's. Both are fabulous, but we just didn't have a definitive answer. The crust is more like a pie crust filled with a zesty tomato sauce and toppings of your choice. The combo showcases the pizza well!

Salad is basic but tasty and helps pave the way for the giant pies. Beer & wine selection is average but really, you're here for the pizza so you'll be fine.

We suggest trying it out. If you're in the burbs it's much easier than trekking to Zelda's, but if I was downtown I wouldn't make the trip. Proximity wins with two tasty pizza places.

We were 6 on Monday night. We (2) ordered a large anchovy and garlic pizza. There was one little anchovy on each slice. We asked for more; got less than the number of slices and were charged for an extra topping. So if we had ordered pepperoni would we get one slice per slice? The bean counters won't see our credit card again. The music was ok if you weren't in such an acoustically challenged building. Hard to think let talk with friends. For 35 bucks we could have bought a nice cd, a good bottle of wine and a Papa's Murphys.
