Celestin's

It's taken us a year & a half to return to this trusty old standby! They are one of the few places in Sacramento who can make a really good Singapore Sling. And yes, I did have one.

We picked this place to try and lure one of our long lost friends out of his home for the evening, but it didn't work. So we just had a great time without him.

Jambalaya is one of their specialties and you can get it with shrimp, chicken, hot links, and many other assorted proteins. Also have jerk burgers, Cuban pork sandwiches, fried plantains and some of the yummiest sweet potato fries around.

One of the sad economic side effects was that on a Thursday night, we were by far their money making table with 10 people. A total of 2 other tables had couples at them during the night. I hate to see good, local places having such a tough time. Let's hope they pick up some business and tough it out.

Go for the drinks, stay for the dinner. Also, check out their calamari. It's just different enough from all the rest around Sacramento to keep it interesting.
